I have just purchased a Wisteria Amethyst Falls’ which is in a 15cm pot. I want to keep the plant in a container on the patio in a larger pot. Please can members who maybe have this plant advise me how to pot this plant on ie., should I pot it up in increment size pots or can I go straight to say a 40cm pot with support.

Yes go ahead it should be big enough in size now to go into a 40cm , use a loam based compost john innes 3 you can add compost and sand/ grit to the mix . I usually go with a 60-40 approx loam to compost mix for most thing

I have one of these its very happy living in a pot with loam mix as Perki says. Mine was quite thirsty in a smaller pot, so I'm sure it will be fine going straight into a larger pot.
I initially gave mine a bit of support and now it's freestanding, like a small wisteria tree. it's quite a slow grower, so don't worry if it doesn't do much

Thanks Magical Meeekat. I find mine really needs more water than they say in the small 15cm pot, thats why I wondered if it would be the right thing to pot it straight into a 40cm pot. Yours surviving gives me the confidence to put mine in the 40cm pot. Thanks again.

Yes, I couldn't keep up with the watering in a spot pot, it's much easier now. It's in a glazed ceramic pot now and much happier good luck with yours

I have had one in a pot for years and it's been fine. It is in a bigger planter than you are planning but it is a much larger plant, about 5x4m. They can be kept much smaller but ours, I have grown several cuttings from the mother plant, has always been very vigorous, so I don't think putting it in a much bigger pot than it is previously will cause any issues for you.
