Not much to go on but the leaf shape is quite distinctive , next time I'll get a picture of the tree and buds and branches.
    In the meantime a leaf.
For some reason I'm thinking a maple but cant find it in my tree book. DSC06541.JPG

Is it a wild service tree - Sorbus torminalis?

Yes thankyou I think you are probably right.
It hasn't got any flowers or berries, probably too young, but I was way off looking at Maples.

Its in my tree book but they show a fairly different leaf shape.
I'd never make the connection looking in my book.

My tree books are not very good, so I googled it and that was the nearest I could find. Some of the pictures were very close. But I can't be certain. Hopefully it will get some flowers. The leaves look glossy and smooth. But it is similar to a maple isn't it.
