We are on holiday in Ibiza in the Balearic Islands, Spain currently for a two week break.

We enjoy a walk down from the hotel to seats overlooking a beach and the sea most days around midday. Some of the time we are there we sit on seats in the sun and when it's too hot sometimes move to sit on seats provided with shade by this tree.

It looks quite old and there are loads of acorn like shaped growths on the branches all over the tree.

Does anyone know what type of tree it is and it's name please for curiosities sake? IMG20250622135958.jpg IMG20250622135346.jpg IMG20250622135430.jpg

Looks a bit like a pine tree to me.
There are a few types of pine in Southern Europe

We go to this spot quite often, I will try to get a closer photo of the needles and the cones.

I am originally from Cyprus and this looks very familiar. We just refer to them as pine trees. I had a quick look online and the cultivar name might be Aleppo Pine based on photos.

With pines I usually look at the bundles of needles they usually come in two three or five it narrows them down.
The cones help as well so closeups of those including size helps nail it down.

If I was to make a guess I would say Aleppo pine too. They are endemic to that part of the world, particularly coastal areas, and it looks right as far as I can see from the photos. There's a description here if you want to have a closer look at the needles and cones and see if they match (apparently it's a weed in Australia!)

Well it's definitely not any of the others in that list!
