Not sure how successful Glastonbury will be this year........... no rain due !!!

Re the Smart Meters - our supplier constantly mentions that the old meter "might be overcharging" - they never have an answer when I suggest that it could therefore also possibly be undercharging. They never respond to any request for evidence that it isn't working correctly nor do they offer to send an engineer to check it. Their frequent use of the phrase "might be overcharging" is simply a scare tactic IMO.

I saw a comment yesterday along the lines of "If you can't afford to go to Glastonbury, go to Wetherspoons. Most in there haven't washed for 3 days, the food is awful, and most of the clientele are out of their heads by 10.30 am."

Glastonbury - that really would be high up on my list of "hellish ways to spend a weekend"! :hate-shocked:

@ViewAhead I couldn't agree more. We used to do quite a bit of camping when we were younger, but did it for a bit of peace and quiet.

One or two do cycle but yes, it's more a case of "Do as I say and not as I do".

Doubt whether any of them cycle from their constituency to the Houses of Parliament tho. I've also yet to see anyone dismounting from a bike at 10 / 11 Downing Street or attempting to cycle from the UK to Europe for the ever constant important meetings as opposed to jumping on a plane.
I used to cycle but am no longer physically capable and I'm sure I'm not the only one in that situation. Cycling alone will not stop our climate from changing :wallbanging:

@shiney It's difficult for them to stuff their faces, drink fine wine and then rest in 5* luxury hotels after a Zoom meeting.

An addition to the green bin chat - I renewed our two bins a couple of weeks ago and have today received the new sticky labels - four of them, two each in two identical envelopes. So good citizen like I am, thought I'd better ring up and tell them. No number or contact details on the letter, the options on the phone don't cover that sort of thing so I gave up in the end.
They probably aren't even in the office on a Friday afternoon anyway.

I wonder if they've sent a whole batch out in duplicate.........
