What are these plants please?

    4 has a hint of fuchsia about it.

    4. Fuchsia leaves are opposite.
    The calyx are small...see examples below
    Don't think that matches.

    Surely with the heat you are getting down south those flower buds have opened???

    Has the flowers opened on photo 4 yet? I agree it does look like a fuchsia but curious to see if it's one of the Epilobium canum varieties. Old name Zauschneria.

    Is nothing sacred anymore.
    To me the leaves look wrong for a Zauschneria.

      Yes the leaves don't look right. But there has been a lot of variations with some having broader leaves. But looks more like a Fuchsia at this stage. The new name sounds a bit weedy!
