    I know who thought so.

It will improve the health of Burger King's bank balance.

I see your point, but I think the problem for all govs these days is they cannot actually do anything without some group or other complaining loudly and fighting them through the courts at great cost to the taxpayer, which means we inevitably take a step forward and then two back.

The WFP did need looking at. Giving it to millionaires is patently ridiculous, but, as usual, they set the barrier far too low just cos that was the easiest to administer. Disability benefits do need reform, but if you allow weeks of speculation before announcing actual plans, everyone has time to be against every possible idea before you get to the starting blocks.

To really improve people's lives takes time as you have to put things like Sure Start in place.

The real thing the gov needs to do is alter expectations (eg on what it is reasonable for the NHS to do, for society to cover in place of proper parenting, for tax payers to expect for their money) and really focus on fairness. Is it fair to house migrants and give them free dentistry, etc, when locals have no secure accommodation and can't get dental care? And so on. (I'm not blaming migrants. Our system is so ridiculous it actively encourages people to try to enter the country.)

@pete, PMQs makes my blood boil. How dare they waste time they are paid for to run the country posturing and howling. :th scifD36:

It’s absolutely criminal. And when these people are the shape of a baby, and get diabetes and joint disease and heaven knows what else, we the tax payer will be forking out to cure them.

If it upsets you that much that you overheat or burst into tears then spare yourselves the emotional anguish and switch it off.

Now, this could be an interesting development. A UN report has said that large corporations supporting Israel with resources, etc, may be complicit in war crimes. The companies are specifically named and include Google and other tech giants for supplying AI, drone functionality, etc, being used to target and kill. As Google's most profitable contracts are now with the military, this could be really serious for them.

I do ... but I shouldn't need to. Televising PMQs should give viewers an insight into how the gov is handling various issues. It should be an opportunity for MPs to ask (and, crucially, get answers to) genuine qus, not "Will the PM join with me in congratulating my constituent X for getting out of bed this morning" and other drivel.

Apparently it was some problem regarding the speaker that made her cry.
The speakers always turn out to be cunning caniving twerps for some reason .I'm sure that Westminster contains a large amount of obnoxious people, especially those that have been around years.

MPs should stop using the word Honourably when addressing each other as they are anything but.

I didn't see RR actually "crying" when PMQ's was shown on the news. She wiped her face a couple of times but she could just have well been brushing away a fly, feeling hot, hay fever, got something in her eye - any number of reasons. She wasn't clutching a tissue so can't have been many tears. As it was immediately taken for granted by the media that she was upset about the U turn and her new £5 billion black hole, it was inevitable that the govt spokesperson was going to step in and claim personal reasons rather than the possibility of disagreement within the govt.
OTH, she could just have been completely pi**ed off with things like the rest of us

As for that Burger - why do they put it in a bun ? Apart from the fact it's like the leaning tower of Pisa, it would have to be dismantled to be able to eat it as not many people could get their jaws open wide enough to eat it as a sandwich.

Have not had a McDonalds or a Burger King in over 20 years. Thought Wendys was different had one maybe 5 years ago ------but there was a new Wendys built less than a mile from me, so gave it a try the other day, just the sandwich, the next day i did not feel well. So never again Wendys. I do like Kentucky Fried Chicken, but none near me, so have not had in years.

and Coke or Pepsi, I do not drink them ever. My parents never allowed us kids to have any, so my first sip was when I was 16, tasted awful to me.

Strange thing about my area there are 8 Pizza places. The restaurants we do have local are so average. For anything decent have to drive about 20 mins. It is a good thing I like to cook .

I've never understood the bun thing, just seems stupid to me that everything has to be in a bun, even if it's impossible to eat like that.

Personally never had a burger in a bun and not wanting one, around here if you have a barbeque it just a sad bit of mince burnt and stuck in a bun, yummy yummy.

If they are really adventurous you might get a sad sausage that really needs to go in the bin. The smell on Sundays, in the summer, is something between a steam train and a chimney fire.:roflol:

I actually prefer the curry smells that emanate from the far eastern section.
