Any idea what this apple tree is-it was already in the garden and hadnt flowered or produced fruit for years according to elderly next door neighbour. This year I’ve got fruit starting. Hoping its a bramley. Any thoughts?

"There are over 7,500 known cultivars (cultivated varieties) of apples worldwide."

To id any apple needs a real expert.
They will look at the leaves/ ripe fruit /cut it open to look at the flesh and taste it.

I recommend you send it to Brogdale.
    They know their apples.
    It cost £30.00

I think its a bit too much to ask at this stage and probably a tall order when the fruit is full grown.

It could be a Bramley. On the other hand, it might be something else. Best to let it grow and ripen and then see if it looks like a Bramley and if it does look like a Bramley, cook it and see if it tastes like a Bramley.

The main thing is, if you like it, you’re happy. :)
