Tyre warning light came on. Pressure only a few pounds under in front tires. Added air. Then tried to fight my way through the onboard computer system to reset the tyre warning light. Then had to drive a few miles to complete the process. What a palaver.

What make of car? All I need to do in that situation is add air and then drive for a few miles to allow the sensor to reset. Same when I have new tyres. No faffing about to reset anything - thankfully.
At least on mine the display shows which tyre is low. A friend has a system which just shows that a tyre is under inflated, not which one. The car owner is a lady with very limited understanding of cars. Took it to the dealership who said they would need to investigate. They had the car for a day and charged her nearly 100 quid to effectively just tell which tyre needed more air.

My neighbour had this problem because he had kerbed the car. The wheel rim had a tiny dent in it that was causing the problem.

My moan is the advert where you send various items , watches , gold , cameras , teddy bears

how long before channel 4 dispatches has a closer look on what that true value is of the items and what the person receives

My car shows which tyre has low pressure and only recently found the easy way to tell it that it is OK now. I was told by the main dealer (whom I phoned) that I need to drive it for ten miles but that If I turn the engine off the ten miles has to start again. They lied! It is one of the reasons that I never use them. The other reason is that they charge a minimum of £175 an hour labour charge. :yikes:

Take off the wheel and then put it into a wheel barrow full of water you will then see where the leak is, if it's a very slow leak you may have to stand there and watch for a while to see where air bubble are coming from, don't be fouled by some bubble that are on the outside of the side walls of tyre, look for the stream of bubbles or the slow ones that come of the same place, i had to reseal my trims 3 times before they sealed, i also think if you have low profile tyres the fornt ones seem to be the ones that are hard to stop more harder on the near side front

Thanks @Jiffy, I m gonna get an electric inflator, it's hard work with a foot pump.
It loses up to 10lbs over the space of a week. It's low profile and on the rear.

They tell me the wheel is corroded presumably at the point the tyre seals.
The last time it was taken off he said he had cleaned off the corrosion, something most tyre people won't do, but he's a mate I know.
                    Obviously it's not working.

I'm really lucky that there's a chap near here who set up his own business doing tyres. The chap at my local garage told me to go there, even though they're tied in to another outlet I used to use, but for reasons I won't go into, won't go back to now.
I've had to replace all my tyres in the last year or so [just wear and tear] and then had the problem of one constantly deflating after about 6 months. Long story short, it's because these places that fit tyres don't do all the cleaning etc, and they don't have the machinery to do it either. He spent ages [more than half an hour] sorting it all - showing me where the problem was and explaining it all, and it cost £20. I won't go past him now - and one of the back tyres is doing the same, so I'll see if it carries on, and then go back to him if it's iffy.

I just go to KwikFit or similar, say "I would like a round one with some air in" ... and they get on with it. One time, just to wind them up, I added "and pink would be nice if you've got it". I hate the colour pink, but felt it topped off my "clueless female" channeling. The look I got was priceless before they realised I was joking!
