    So I am attempting to grow Aubergines for the first time.
    They are in my greenhouse. With the current heat wave, all the vents and windows are open
    There are plenty of buds, but they are all aborting.
    Any idea why ? IMG_8685.jpeg

    I grew them first time last year and I never had that problem, so cant say, possibly a dry atmosphere? perhaps.
    That leaf looks suspect to me like scorch.
    Having said that maybe try upping the humidity by fine misting or wetting down the paths when its hot.:scratch:
    Mine got thrown out the greenhouse, they were red spider mite magnets for me.

      @pete

      I have a Lotus growing in a big tub, so there must be a fair mount of humidity ?

      How did yours do out of the greenhouse ?

      @Escarpment
      The flowers do open

        Not too bad considering last summer was very mixed I didn't put them out until July probably, but they had set fruit by then.

        If you can move them perhaps try one plant.

          Must admit I only got about two decent sized fruits from a plant.

            Hi,

            you need to keep to a regular water and feeding regime, temperature up and down will effect plants not just aubergine with flower drop, do not let them dry out.

            They require a long growing season so you have plenty of time

            Check to see if you have red spider mite

            If the flowers are opening and then dropping without any fruit forming, it sounds like a pollination problem.

            Tried them outside, and nothing.
            I discovered that for some odd reason the anthers weren't shedding pollen.
            They would form the anthers, nothing further.

            So I ended up binning the plants

            Doubt I will give it another go next summer.
