I've received an email from Sainsbury's/Nectar saying that from the 25th you will need to access your nectar prices by updating your app every week. Apart from it being a pain in the bum to do that I would find it quite difficult as I don't use apps.

So I phoned them and they said that I can then continue to use my Nectar card with no problem. Why didn't they say that in the email?

    Stupid! :wallbanging:

Had a blood test yesterday, and today received a text from the GP surgery asking me to follow a link to a satisfaction survey. I’ve already told them to email me with anything like that, as I don’t have a smart phone, and I’m blowed if I’m going to copy out a great long address to access it. Shame I can’t access it to tell them how unsatisfied I am about that!
I think GP surgeries also get extra funding if they can get a high percentage of suitable patients on statins. OH was offered them with great enthusiasm by our GP, and I was collared after my annual review to start them as well. Fair enough, I’ve just had the follow-up blood test, and my cholesterol is noticeably lower.

When I get those long addresses I copy them and send them to myself as an email. I can then copy them into my ipad and complete the form there. Maybe arse about elbow but it works for me.

@NigelJ The GPs at our practice seemingly don't even read the information the Stazi, sorry receptionists, have demanded before permitting access to medical staff. Despite providing almost everything apart from inside leg measurement during that call, the first thing the doctor says is "What can I do for you today?" I'm so tempted to say "Reading the note from the receptionist would be a start" but I don't want the hassle of finding a new surgery.

After my annual health check a couple of years ago I looked at the information collected on the NHS app. My answers had been recorded as "Moderate smoker" and "Takes no exercise". My actual answers were "Never smoked" and Moderate exercise". I wrote to the surgery stating that I wanted the record corrected. I never even got a reply.

We now have to fill out an online form that is available between 0800 and 0900 (or whenever they have a days quota of forms 0930 if you are lucky). Answer an interminable number of questions, include photographs if possible; this is then triaged by somebody hopefully qualified. After this the selected winners will receive a text inviting them to ring to make a face to face appointment, runners up will be told they've got a morning or afternoon phone consultation, third place gets you an appointment with a practice nurse. The rest will get some advice about self medication or maybe even a prescription.

Apparently I'm disqualified from annual health checks as I have regular appointments at the hospital for a heart problem and an eye condition.

My cousin got fed up of being asked about alcohol consumption so the next time she was asked she just rolled her eyes and replied "you really don't want to know" subject has not been raised since.

That's another advantage of not having a mobile phone and not giving them an email address. I get ordinary phone calls from them and the hospital, three so far this week, and no forms to fill in. The calls tend to be quite polite since I complained about them not letting me know about an appointment (luckily I had phoned them and it turned out to be in an hour's time) and them saying they had sent a text to my mobile. They were quite embarrassed when I told them that I didn't have a mobile :heehee:.
