I sowed pumpkin seeds I think end of may planted them out in June they grew slow then a few weeks ago they went mental and put on 4 foot of growth , is liquid seaweed enough to feritlize them or do I need a feed higher in potasium and calcium ? Also any pumpkin growing advice and wisdom from any ones experiences welcome

I had a lot of fun growing one in the Pumpkin growing and carving challenge 2016 thread.

There is a very good sticky thread by Steve R which details a lot of applicable information, Giant Pumpkin Growing Guide. The pictures are missing but the text points you in the right direction.

My own view is that liquid seaweed is not enough to feed this hungry plant if you are trying to grow a whopper. Powder or granular fertiliser needs to be incorporated into the soil at the soil prep stage prior to planting.

Then diligently keep to a regular watering regime - never let the soil dry out during the pumpkin growing stage.

Instead of using a strong dose of liquid fertiliser once a week, consider diluting down that same dose for use over seven days. That way the plant still gets the same dose once a week but in a less harsh way.
