My first picks of the season, two toms, 2 plus pounds. The price of tomatoes here now is four dollars a pound. Variety is Beefsteak, the scale is set to pounds.

Nice tomato @hydrogardener ! I have Purple Cherokee which gives me 1/2 pound fruits. Tbh, I find it difficult to use the bigger ones - a couple of slices on burgers, then what do you do with the rest? Yours are probably too big for a normal burger

I didn't grow any beefsteaks this year - all small so can't be really "sliced" and now OH moaning about lack of tomato slices in his cheese sandwiches. Can't do right for wrong :wallbanging:

My pickings today. Big red one is Demit de Rosoy. It's a first tomato of this french origins variety, will eat it soon and let to know if it's delicious.

I decided to pick the first-to-blush of the Fat Slags and bring it inside to finish before the stalk split completely. PXL_20250723_171646760~3.jpg

Last couple of days' produce. I'm picking many of the tomatoes before they're completely ripe to avoid them splitting on the plant.

It's a Rebel Starfighter Prime, and it's the most flavourful from big tomatoes so far this season. Really enjoyed. Unfortunately, plant produced just a few of them, but I don't complain, still learning.
By the way red Demit De Rosoy was quite good, very fleshy, oily. Probably, next tomatoes will have more intense taste.
One variety I repeated from the last year, compared to an excellent taste last year, is more of bland this season. But Sungold is good as always.

Nothing with a weird name I'm afraid but my crimson plum are starting to ripen now, reputed to be blight resistant.
The fruits seem to be very uniform in size.

They are more like a normal tomato when you cut them in half, unlike other plum types I have grown in the past which usually were very fleshy with few seeds. DSC06808.JPG DSC06811.JPG
