I haven't tasted the Malachite Box yet. It's the first time I've grown it so I'm looking forward to it. Really surprised at how big they are, they've ripened earlier than my favourite Green Zebra which haven't done well this year.

Forgot to mention that they're all grown outside in NW England.

I've got loads of fruit on all my toms, but nothing near ripe yet. Sigh...
I think I was a bit later getting them planted out though. It's usually end of July anyway before I get any ripe fruit.
I'll have a real glut if they all suddenly ripen soon. Won't be needing any other food - I'll just open the gr'house doors and stuff my face!

I've been enjoying Big Daddy this week - big, juicy, tasty, and a lot less pith than marmande.

@fairygirl , even here in the South most of my Toms are still green. They are ripening but slowly, the outside ones are nearly as advanced as the greenhouse ones. In a way it's OK as we are just about keeping up with them.

Mine have only just started to ripen last week outside, I never rush to plant out early, been caught out often by the weather, this year could have got away with it, but you never know.

Mine are all inside unless I have extra @Allotment Boy. Almost all of mine germinated this year [typical!] so I have one outside, gave a couple away to ex hubby, and got one of the little plastic gr'house for another couple. All have fruit, but the outdoor one won't ripen so I'll top that. It doesn't matter if I don't get any from that one anyway.
Mine don't get planted [germinated in the house and grown on] until around mid May @pete . It's just not feasible where I am. We regularly have single figure, or close to single, night time temps in June [and often July] so they need to be a decent size for planting out finally. Daytime conditions can often be cool too [with plenty of wind and rain] and late July and especially once we're into August there are lots of hours of cooler weather.
As things change, climate wise, that may also change. We had the hottest/driest spring here on record, but it didn't make a lot of difference to the toms! As long as I eventually get plenty, I'm happy

Tomatoes setting. A neighbours gifted garden delight is earlier than our blight resistant ones but I think it was sown earlier.
Blight has shown up already, early for this year, probably the warm humid week weve had with constant drizzles, and the warm spring. Ive been picking leaves. Nothing on the blight resistant ones and seemingly our potato hasnt gotten it yet.

Our physalis peruviana is doing fantastically. Its 2nd year, put on maybe 40 fruit with more to come. By this time last year it hadnt set even one and we only had a handful in winter indoors.
