The main bulb died @strongylodon and I'm left with several small bulbils, which need repotting too.
I couldn't grow them in the ground here, it's too cold and wet in the winter, so I keep them in pots.
Glad to know yours are flowering for you

I have always thought it to be, that was what the grower said who sent me the plant originally, they do go almost orange after a day or two.

Well if it's the one you sent me, then it just must be the difference being outside. Mine is stuck in the greenhouse as it's rooted firmly through the pot!

It's the only one I have these days so it must be,I'll take another picture in a couple of days to see if the flowers appear darker.
Someone did give me a small cutting of a variegated one last week.

I have not even a sign of buds on my three in pots. Charlie, the only one in the ground only has one or two flowers. This is not the season for them here, they prefer our Winter.

Even here they seem better in the shade during mid summer, obviously winter is just too cold.

Yes, yours appear to be in a shady spot. We now have the Jacarandas shedding like the buggery covering everything in sight. Roll on Autumn. We are 36c already.

My Hedychium gardenarium have started. My other 2 are still in bud, as is H. densiflorum "Assam Orange". No sign of buds on H. coronarium, or "Gold Spot" yet.

Hedychium gardnerianum (Kahili ginger lily) 10 - small.jpg

Hedychium gardnerianum (Kahili ginger lily) 13 - small.jpg

Any suggestions as to which Hedychium this might be?

I think there are a fair few hybrids these days, does that white one flower early, strange you H. gardnerianum is flowering earlier than densiflorum, usually densiflorum is well before gardnerianum for me, also your gardnerianum looks different to mine.

The H. "Assam Orange" and the other 2 H. gardinarium are in another bed which has s 1m wall on the S side, while this one faces S.
This is the H' gardinarium, in the other bed last year.

The one I posted on this thread is the first time it had flowered.
The white one was taken at Trellisick Gardens, Cornwall, Aug. 23
                      This is the clump.

My hedychium Tara (thanks Pete) and densiflorum are going to be the first. Devon Cream will be next, then Lunar Moth.
                        My gardnerium is doing nothing.
