Years ago I read something that stuck in my mind about growing these.
It said plant in the frog of a porous house brick and put the brick in a saucer of water. Humidity seemed more important than lots of compost.

One of those soft red ones you don't see any more.
Maybe a thermal block with a hole dug in it. ;)

I've got one of those bricks lying about in the garden somewhere, but I think the Begonia looks better in a pot

This succulent that I left outside for the summer has flowered for the first time.

I've had this Peace Lily for over a year now. The fact that it's still alive is a miracle, house plants and I don't get on.

Thanks @ViewAhead, I've discovered it likes being fed with Tomorite. :)

I use Tomorite on my flowering house plants, including cacti. But not orchids obviously. If they're not flowering then Baby Bio.

Why not orchids @cactus_girl ? You can just dilute it more. They need feed and tomorite encourages flower/fruit.
If you look at the back of "orchid" feed, it'll have the NPK levels - and they are normally half the ones of standard feed, but twice the price!
