Solved ID please

Any ideas what this might be growing in a pot with an agapanthus which was new this year? It looks like sweetcorn to me but I am not growing that anywhere else in the garden.

 

Probably totally wrong, but my Ginger experiment 3 years ago looked like this.

I wonder if it's sweet corn dropped by a bird.
