I bet GPs have a big long patient list where many have died or moved away but are still on their list.

I have the same problem @redstar but mine has been since birth. Only my close family get it right first time. I blame my mother.

@pete Yes the GP practice will know if a patient has died but they don't necessarily pass that information on and take that person off their patient list. There have been a couple of cases in the past where practices have been caught out claiming for many ghost patients.

I pay well over £100 per month, but that's my fault for not getting switched over to a water meter. I would undoubtedly save masses of money if I did so.

@Escarpment That sounds high but for those not on a meter, I believe the annual charge is still based on property value / Council Tax band.
How much daily water usage obviously depends on how many in the household but metered water does seem to lower the bills.

I'm also with Wessex Water who are among the most expensive. I'm in the "more bedrooms than people" situation and use water responsibly too so I'd almost certainly save, but I do like not having to think about it! I think when I retire and my income is reduced I will do it.

Having your name spelt incorrectly on a cake or letter is bad, but imagine spelling it wrong on a tattoo. Some years ago I saw a woman on the beach with presumably her partner or son's name in about 4" high Gothic letters across the small of her back. I'm assuming his name wasn't Kieth as the normal spelling is Keith.
