TBH if you want good storing onions I wouldn't be growing Kelsae, big is nice but they hold a lot of water.

I am not going to store the Kelsae and some have already been eaten ( yum!). The ones I am hoping will store well are Sturon. Hoping for the best.

What did you grow in this bed this year and what did you add in terms of compost or fertilizer?

I would add Growmore worked into the soil before planting. Then a top dressing of Growmore in the spring.

You can substitute something organic instead of Growmore like blood fish and bone.

shredded leaves and grass when the leaves drop in a month is a good additive or on top. good for the soil health.

i think garlic mostly wants nitrogen

Personally I don't think I'd add anything in the way of fertiliser at this time of year.
Bearing in mind the soil is in good condition.
They don't need to make lots of soft growth at this time of year that could easily get damaged.
