Hi all, currently in the new market for a new lawnmower as mine has packed up. Ideally a cordless one as its less faf but open to any suggestions, also suggestions on supplier would be great.

    Thanks all

      Hi @robjames621
Sorry you've had no replies. It depends a lot on the size of your lawn. I know someone with an electric ride on, but that's rather pricey! If you get a battery one, you end up stuck in the "ecosystem" of your supplier. For example, I have a lot of Ryobi one+ tools and batteries, so a Ryobi cordless would be an obvious choice for me. Unfortunately I think a lot of the cordless ones don't look very robust, so only suited to smaller lawns. I use a 4 stroke Honda that's ancient but incredibly reliable.

I don't know whereabouts you live @robjames621, but if you're looking to buy online I can recommend these people from personal experience .

First of all check the price of a replacement battery then ensure you can adjust the height of the blades above the ground. My recycling centre has a box full of garden battery operated gadgets as it is cheaper to buy a new one with a battery fitted than buy a new battery as per my hedge cutter.

Haha yeh I definitely don't have the budget for a ride on one, my lawn is only small so something lightweight and easily manoeuvrable would be ideal.

We'll go to B&q and look at their range - pick them up and feel whether they're solid enough. And remember that whatever one you buy, the battery could die randomly, so do what @waterbut suggests and check replacement prices
