Not always worth going by the Sow By date for seeds - some last far longer than others if stored correctly. Bit like the Use By dates on foodstuff

We have just discovered and eaten a tin of Ambrosia tinned custard - BBE 02/22. It tasted fine and four hours later we are still alive. :rolleyespink:

Sometimes the toxins take a couple of days, they are usually the worse ones.:roflol:

just checked a website about' wheelers imperial dwarf cabbages' says can sow spring and Autumn. It said the Autumn sowing should be ready January.. iv miss read the info on pk when they should be ready, but still will be great if l can get them by that time...the greyhounds and wheelers look so similar..l dont think im going to be able to identify what they are afterall...my lesson learnt... to always label my sown seeds!!! but the seed pk def days 2021 expire date. l never throw old seeds out, that's why l have boxes full, as iv found many do germinate after the exp date :)

I'm a little late this year with winter green sowing - wild rocket, valdor lettuce, garlic kale and red russian kale all showing from a sowing a couple of weeks ago...
...and then today sown more rocket, turnip greens, chard, oriental salads, claytonia, and cress, in an unheated greenhouse.
I'll likely not really be harvesting, except the cress, until March-April...

Some of that seed is 4 or 5 years old, so I'm keeping my expectations low...

Nice to still be finding strawberries, though less sweet than earlier in the year.
