Silent acid reflux..do you suffer from this?

Since I posted this, I have been back to RVI 4 times, each time more nodules have appeared resulting RFA was not possible. I was at the RVI last week in July, again to have more nodules removed. My consultant said after the procedure that these nodules were coming back quicker than he was expecting and that going forward would be discussed after the results of my biopsy

I received a letter from the RVI for an appointment to attend the RVI on Wednesday the 17th September, roughly 7 weeks since my last visit, instead of roughly 12/14 weeks. This time I also did not receive a consent form, first time. When I went to my appointment and went to the room to have my blood pressure checked, I asked the nurse why I hadn't had a consent form, she replied the consultant will explain.

So, now I have a different consultant that informed me that some of tissue samples taken from July had come back showing cancerous cells. Thankfully they are only in the surface of the tissue and have not gone deeper, but being told that, really threw me. The plan for that day was to do RFA in one go. I agreed, but like he said, this would only happen if there was no nodules as they would be the priority to be removed. Ending up having that tube pushed in and out for nearly an hour, only to have more nodules removed again and no RFA to destroy the abnormal tissue.

 

Worrying times we know, but take some time to adjust and remain positive.

Have they arranged to do the RFA or must they wait for the results of the nodules just removed ?

 

I have to wait for the results, then my results are discussed with other consultants in the country. So, hopefully I will hear something in the next couple of weeks

 

It's an anxious time for you @gks and I hope they'll give you treatment to eradicate the abnormal tissue ASAP

 

That sounds nasty, @gks. Hopefully the surface cells can be dealt with quickly.
