Strictly Come Dancing 2025

Sequins, drama, self indulgence, high energy and screaming with excitement is poles apart from my life and what I usually watch (gardening programmes and crime thrillers!). Variety is the spice of life!

Happy to have it back for the Autumn weekends.

Oh dear Dani Dyer is out with a broken ankle! I had her ear-marked as a finalised. I wonder if they will replace her?…

 

I hope so @AuntyRach. Such a shame, I had high hopes for her. It's short notice though.

Seriously though, both OH and I were a little surprised that she'd injured her foot like that.
From what I've read it sounded fairly innocuous at first, I wondered if she should have a bone density scan.

 

Crumbs I don’t fancy Nikita! There is going to be a replacement for Dani apparently…

Danny Dyer's replacement is Amber Davies.
Another ex Love Islander and also took part in Dancing on Ice last year. A fair bit of West End musical experience, which is probably just as well coming in at such short notice.

We'll watch it after dinner @AuntyRach . TV currently being hogged by OH for the Ryder Cup except for a break to watch the rugby final. None of that malarkey this evening!!

 

Mostly general comments as there are so many couples at the moment !

Enjoyed the opening number incorporating the judges.

Glad to see that the scoring is starting mostly from a low threshold, rather than throwing out loads of sevens and above in the first week. Will it last ?

OK, it's week one, but for heaven's sake dance for the 2 minutes or whatever it is. Don't sit and have a cup of tea or whatever. Blag it if you must, but please dance.

Of them all, I think George Clarke is a definite dark horse.
I also have my fingers crossed for Karen Carney continuing for several weeks. That was an extremely energetic jive.

Finally, the "rotation" of the Head Judge casting vote. Good idea imo.

 

Yes, @AnniD? An interesting start to the series with some surprisingly good dancers and some good work by the professionals tho one or two choreographies were dull and I hope Katya calms down the gimmicks.

Right result for me and some cracking dancing last night. And one or two horrors.

 

I don't normally watch the first few weeks, because of prats like him taking part. Thankfully he has been voted out at the first opportunity. There are 2 others I can't wait to see the back of. I do worry for Ellie. Surely she should have been partnered by one of the shorter professionals. It looks like a deliberate attempt by somebody to make her look awkward.
