Does anyone know if there are there blight resistant determinate varieties out of interest?

Veranda Red is supposed to be. I can't remember if mine got it last year or not - I know the Outdoor Girl ones did. No blight on any of mine yet this year.

I came back from holidays, and tomato plants are doing well. Picked some:

Sorry for another photo. :) Picked tomatoes from a greenhouse today and watered remaining plants afterwards. Overall turned to be a good year. No signs of grey mould.

Back on the topic of Gardener's Delight, I brought back some seed from the Tomato fest. I saw them growing and they were small fruited. Didn't get to taste them, but as they are part of the national collection, hopefully the variety has been properly maintained there.

I'm sowing old strain GD received from JWK next year, already started collating the list. Lucid Gem and Gartenperle are on the list too.

Came back from a wet week's holiday to find loads of Maskotka fruits waiting for me. The greenhouse doesn't get a lot of sun this time of year so I was rather surprised they'd even started to ripen. When gathered in a punnet and placed on a windowsill they quickly reach full ripeness.

Can't quite believe they've been producing fruit constantly since June. Best year ever!

I was shown my daughter's greenhouse yesterday, my tomatoes are just about finished, hers have just come into their own, large healthy plants, dripping with long trusses of ripening tomatoes, which I believe are Gardeners Delight. We live about 3 miles from each other but our gardens are totally different aspects. Mine is open, sunny, windy, no shade. Hers is in the bottom of a valley, little sunshine, no wind, sheltered, greenhouses the same size.
I am sure her plants had a lot more care than mine this year, just shows how different results can be for the same crop.

I'm starting to look for tom seeds to grow for my canning projects next year. - Passatta/ stew tomatoes / salsa etc.
I know i should be looking for plum tomatoes with fewer seeds, and more flesh to juice. I keep returning to Tomato San Marzano. If anyone has grown these, your input will be great before I order. Thank you

I have grown san Marxano regularly, they do very well but they are not blight resistant, so a lot depends on the season. For blight resistance try Crimson Plum, more expensive as it's an F1 cultivar.

I tried San Marzano a couple of years ago. I did them outside tho and was very disappointed with them - few fruit and didn't ripen. May heve been a different outcome had I had space in the GH for them tho. The other ones I have done specifically for sauce were the Roma.......... a few years ago in a different garden and outside in containers against a S facing wall. They performed well.

My Crimson plum have been fantastic outside this year, best crop I've had in ages and very clean uniform sized fruit.
I'll be hopefully growing it again next year.

Tried some of the Italian types many years ago and I don't think we get the weather for them usually, a big disappointment, not tried them for about 20 yrs.
