    The owner has died and the nursery is closing down with a half price sale. Cannot see a catalogue on line, but if you live nearby it may be worth a visit. He used to have a big section of unusual Epimediums.

    That's a shame - I made a special trip down there many years ago when I lived in Nottinghamshire. They had a good range of more interesting plants.

    Up until now I visited there usually twice a year and often had a little chat with the owner, a lovely gent with many stories to tell. It's a fabulous nursery on a hillside, with a beautiful meadow further going up the hill that has been managed to have rich habitats, as arranged by the owner. Rest in peace, Alan. I shall tend some of your plants and think of you. One of my earliest purchases was a Turner Spanish oak, every year it reaches further towards the sky.
