Same here at the mo @Jenny namaste. In the last couple of weeks we have had just enough rain to green up the grass and weeds and need to mow but no deep moisture for planting and transplanting.

We're to stay warm and sunny till Friday when wet stuff and winds are forecast but, after the weekend, its supposed to be wall to wall sunshine and back up in the mid 20s. Lovely - as long as we get that rain!

 

Sunshine here too after a chilly start into the day. Temperature currently around 18c.
Hoping for rain on Friday.

 

Best day for ages, sunny and 20c. Went to Dungeness with Ben and had a walk along the beach at low tide.
Dogs can go on most beaches from tomorrow.

 

@pete the Vendée has 250 kms of coastline of which 140 km are sandy beaches. In all that there are just 5 beaches open to dogs all year, as long as they are on a lead.

All the rest is closed to dogs from April 1st to October 15th but in open season they don't have to be on a lead and can run and play as they like which is great to see but not so good when irresponsible owners haven't disciplined their dogs to come when called so they can avoid problems with other dogs or people who are afraid of them. We always kept ours on leads unless the beach was empty.

 

Just short of 29c this afternoon. A pleasant day. It is 22c now.

 

Personally I wouldn't bother taking a dog on a beach on a lead.
Bit like taking a kid in a sweetshop and not buying any.

 

Ours were happy with it @pete as they came to the Atlantic late in life so took a while to get used to waves. Rasta would just trot along, sniffing shells and so on, but Bonzo was worried if the waves were too noisy but also loved a good gallop when he could, before arthritis stiffened him up.

Welcome in October. Should be another dry day with sunny intervals. I’m only a half day today so I will actually see some daylight today.

 

Bright start, some clouds around but nothing threatening.

 

Rainy overnight but starting to cheer up now. Max temp 18c, breezy.
