I record both the live and results shows.
Even fast forwarding through the VTs and just watching the dances, judges' comments, and the scores still made for a very long programme.

The right result based on the dancing, let alone anything else.
I did feel for Amy trying to choreograph anything to that music. She was up against it on many levels.

I noticed that Ellie was missing for most of the time in the "Clauditorium". All that yelling and shrieking is way over the top, and she was clearly uncomfortable last week.

As for "Paul Robinson" (Stefan Dennis), he was a good sport to wear that wig, that's all I can say.

Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink - can anyone tell me what the heck was going on with his trousers ?

It certainly wasn't good salsa music @AnniD but I doubt anything would have helped.

As for the trousers, it's the pleats at the waist. That cut and style look great on men and women when you're standing up or walking but the moment you sit or swing your legs about the extra fabric bunches up twixt waist and crotch and is unattractive.

I couldn't believe that wasn't picked up in the dress rehearsal @Obelix-Vendée .

Heaven knows that it's all I can do to sew on a button, but even I know that wasn't right .

@AnniD Why were you looking at his trousers? You should have been checking the footwork.

Enjoying the series so far. I was worried about Ellie too as she looked overwhelmed and exhausted last week so glad she had a break from the group for a bit. We don’t know what if any hidden disabilities or neuro divergence she has but it appears that Vito is taking good care of her, which is lovely to see. I’m very taken with George so he had most of my votes.

Yes, I noticed Ellie seemed overwhelmed the first week but they've taken care of her and Vito is lovely with her; adpatinh his teaching and manner to get the best form her. Good luck to both.

@AnniD - it's not just dancing tho. Pleated trousers keep coming back cos they look so good, as I said when standing or walking, but moving legs in other directions makes the excess fabric bunch and I remember one chap in 1990 telling me they were awful cos whenever the man wearing them sat down he'd look form the side as tho he had an erection.

There are lots of considerations the costumes team seem to miss when designing the outfits............

Tonight's show starts at 18.05 with the theme of Movie Night.

Stephan Dennis and Dianne Buswell will not be taking part as he is unwell, so receive a "bye" for one week only.

I have finally finished watching last night's recording. Yet again, even with vast amounts of fast forwarding I'd only reached Karen Carney and her partner, and it was gone 10pm last night.

There were 2 dances I really enjoyed, Jimmy and Karen's rumba and Alex and Johannes with the Devil wears Prada theme.

Giving a 10 in week 3. OK, I thought it was very good (certainly from a performance point of view, I need @Obelix-Vendée to give the technical take ), but when Craig gave a 9 I had a feeling that might happen.

I felt that Cynthia Erivo was a bit shoehorned in on the judge's desk, particularly as she wasn't scoring. I understand the performance advice bit that apparently she was giving before the couples danced, but that could have been included in the VTs.

Finally, for heaven's sake calm down with all the shrieking and running around. Even Nikita annoyed me with all that carry on .

I do agree about the shrieking and carrying on @AnniD . Not needed. Quite irritating.

Possum and I watched a recording too and FFd all the VT stuff, just watching the dancing. I enjoyed Cynthia's contribution but wouldn't want an extra person every week. I do think that everyone raised their game last night and there were some brilliant dances but yes, the marking was too high.

I was really surprised by how much the judges liked the salsa. I didn't see any "armography" which is the key part of salsa. Its original form is danced on packed floors so the footwork stays very simple and the arms do most of the talking to drive the turns and spins and the appearance of tying your partner in knots. Even allowing for it being a show dance with lifts there was a lack of technical content.

With all the shrieking and carrying on, Strictly is getting more like an over the top American game show every year.

I enjoyed it (despite the screaming and whooping). Comments went on a bit with the five of them. Ellie was pure joy! Louis was brilliant, but he has danced before!

I haven't watched this weeks show, but do know who went out. Happy to know that the two I thought were by far the worst last week have gone.

I enjoyed Alex and Johannes' rumba, but couldn't help feeling that it wasn't necessary for Shirley to come out from behind that desk and make a speech !

La Voix and Aljaz, no idea what happened or whose idea it was....

Twenty years since Colin Jackson took part. I still remember the "dancing dolls" in the final.

I do like George. Had to admire his honesty in admitting mistakes, even though Aton told him not to .

Finally Claudia and Dave Arch re- enacting the Coldplay kisscam moment. Made me laugh, at any rate.

Re the results show, I was sorry to see them go, but I think it was the correct result for the 2 couples involved.

Haven't seen the results yet as Possum was prepping for exams today so we'll see it this evening.

Enjoyed the show on Saturday very much and that rumba was excellent but Shirley OTT about it. No idea what happened to La Voix who has good legs but didn't use them properly on the floor. I have an idea about who will have gone tho.
