    Hello,

My parents have a tree peony that has been in a pot for approx nine years. It's been potted on a couple of times but not for some time. They'd now like to plant it in the ground. I've never grown any type of peony so don't know anything about them.

When to plant, where to plant, how to plant etc. Any advice gratefully received!

    Thanks, Robert

    Hi

it needs a sunny spot , not waterlogged over winter , plant now.

prepare the ground well dig over , when planting with tree peony the graft needs to be under the soil , they do ok in pots for a few years but then the flowers get less and less , it will enjoy being in the ground .. I feed mine in early march fish blood and bone or a rose fertiliser and mulch around the plant

    Hope that helps
