I bought this as a tiny plant earlier in the year, and it’s really taken off now.
It’s obviously about to flower, but it seems so late in the year. We are not far from the south coast, and it’s quite mild here, but is there anything I should be doing to ensure that I can enjoy the flowers before the weather turns cold? I don’t have a greenhouse. Mine are still showing the odd flower that opens on a mild day, but growth is slowing now, I usually put pot grown ones in the garage overwinter, but you might get away with it near the coast.

I dry them off a fair bit and then cut them down as space is short.

Keep it in a sunny position and protect it from wind and it should flower well.

Keep an eye on the forecast for any frosts and take it in when nights get cold. They can take a light frost over winter but not whilst in leaf and flower so keep the pot in a frost free place once the foliage does die back.

If you can, get it going early next spring by bringing it in to a warm, sunny spot in the house and giving it liquid feeds. The more growth it puts on before being put outside after the last frosts, the sooner it will flower. Mine have been at it for months now but never managed it in Belgium where winters were really cold.

Perhaps you could give it house room while it flowers and move to the garage/outhouse to die back after. They survive planted out here on The Solent last 4 years, simply covered with the cut down foliage as a quilt
