Started sunny but soon clouded over, it was cold dull and windy midday, the sun came back out this afternoon but afternoons are pretty short now.

@Retired sun blinds in cars are detachable on one side so you can swing them round to shield you from the sun. I use mine a lot, particularly this time of year when the sun is blinding.

The weather didn't know what to do today. Sunshine, cloud and drizzle and sometimes all together. 9C/48F

              Hi,

Thanks so much @simone_in_wiltshire; what a brilliant suggestion and one I'll happily adopt in future; like many cars my car has a swivelling visor but I confess I've only ever used it for forward vision; your baseball cap suggestion though is perfect. :yahoo:

Wow I compiled this reply but forgot to post it earlier.

Thanks @Sheal I'm aware my car sun visor swivels but confess I've never tried swivelling it only ever using it in forward direction; I thought messing around with it could distract me whilst driving but I'll give it a go and I also like the basebal cap suggestion; I could swivel the cap easy enough on my solar panel. Safety though is paramount.

              Kind regards, Col.

The sun peeped out just now and it is 46f 7c . The guessers say more frost will visit tonight.

I can't do the sunvisor deal. I'm not too short so it must be need to 4 inches longer

Baseball cap it is then :)

@Retired that's the trouble this time of year the sun is lower down. Last Friday we were going into Worcester and i had to swivel my vizer to stop the sun getting into Hubby's eyes because he was driving.

@Sheal I don't fiddle around with the visor in the car. I tried it once and never again. Far too dangerous while driving and with my talent for hardware, I probably brake them soon. I'm so sensitive to light, I also have it down all time.

Yesterday, I hung most of the washing out into the garden which no longer gets sunshine but thanks to the heavy wind, the clothes were almost dry 4 hours later.

12c currently, drizzle, and 13c over the day with again 5hrs of sunshine so the forecast.
There could be rain tonight and tomorrow morning.
Looks like now starts the rainy season. I do hope the groundwater gets water at some point. The soil here is still dry below 30cm or so.

Should be getting some sun today and gentle winds. Max 12c.

Next few days are rather wet.

There is a hill in Birmingham called Gravelly Hill, where the late afternoon sun can be lower than oneself, so the visor needs to be sticking upwards rather than hanging down! It can be the same on the Aston Expressway. Very dangerous.
