Morning. It’s a fine day and sunny intervals with light winds is predicted.

Winter low sun can be awful yes! The visor plus sunglasses is required for me. There is also now a widespread issue of glaring headlights, in the dark, causing issues for drivers. The older your eyes are, the longer it takes to recover from a glare - so not great.

        Hi,

        Bron always had her passenger side visor down full time; I only used mine for forward when the sun was in my face;

"There is no specific legal requirement to wear sunglasses while driving
, but it is a legal requirement to ensure you can see clearly and are not a danger to others. Wearing inappropriate sunglasses, such as those that are too dark (Category 4) or yellow-tinted, can lead to a dangerous driving charge, resulting in fines, points on your license, or even prison time. It is important to slow down or pull over if you are dazzled by the sun."

I bought the correct type of sun glasses for driving but the worst sun for me is the strobe effect through trees to my right and using a swivelled visor would mean constantly adjusting it as travel direction was changed. Normally I do wear a baseball cap but left it at home yesterday because I was visiting the optician to collect new glasses; how typical though this was one time when the sun was fiercest; today is a black hole and we must have suffered some terrible weather during last night; it's very overcast with rain and powerful wind; puddles again along the street and still in drought?

        Strong wind._582.JPG

        Kind regards, Col.

We have 10 degrees no wind and a lot of cloud, though the sun is trying to burn through just now, we had quite heavy rain over night, though our rivers are all steady and not rising. so the ground must be still dry.

Breezy this morning, and sunshine interspersed with ominously dark clouds even though the forecast says rain is unlikely.

                    Hi,

It's still very gloomy with powerful gusts of wind driving rain to the front of the bungalow pressure washing it; a typical Yorkshire day but a good test for the new porch I made and installed.

Blame me for todays bad weather; I made a top job of cleaning all the front windows last evening before it got dark; opening the blinds at 6 o'clock this morning rain was being blasted against them; also I cleaned the kitchen window on the outside; neighbours two cats rub against the glass smearing it; the two cats were here when I went into the kitchen going mad on the window cill for their breakfast; I've known both cats Dudley & Gems since they were kittens; their owners don't mind them being fed; they follow me all over and are welcome company,

                    Kind regards, Col.

Some years ago I can remember driving along the M2 west in the evening, its a long straight section and it must have been the exactly right, or wrong time of the year.
The sun was dead ahead, it was impossible to actually see anything, worse than being in foggy conditions, I thought of slowing down, which I did to some extent slowly, but it was a really hairy experience, you literally couldn't see anything ahead until you were on top of it.
I left the motorway at the next exit which was services, but trying to spot the slip road wasn't easy.

Anyway its been fairly sunny today, a few cloudy spells, breezy rather than rough.
                      16c so not bad.

If you're finding the sun dazzling while you're driving, it's a fair bet that the drivers behind you are, too. Therefore it's best not to make any sudden changes, slowing down quickly, lane changes etc if you don't have to. They might not even be able to see your brake lights and indicators clearly (yes they should be wearing appropriate sunglasses, using the visor etc, but I wouldn't bet on it).

It has been breezy and the sun appeared around 3ish.The guessers say frost will grace our gardens again tonight.

The sun coming in the windshield at certain times of the day is quite a nag. Clean me, Clean me, it keeps harping...
