It’s stayed mild at 13 overnight!? Spells of thundery rain later today but should be clear and dry going to work soon.

Low cloud a bit over the mountain opposite, had lots of rain last night and today winds of up to 24 mph, dry for a min though. Typical brushed up 1 sack of leaves yesterday things you do to keep fit. Travelling up to Newark today to see what’s spooky with our family.

Expected to reach a max of 16c today with light showers too. Looks quite nice out there currently with a slight breeze and a bit of blue sky.

Light high cloud, 18c going to 25c. Showers around but think they are up in Central but would not say no to a drop or two.

Getting some heavy showers here. Rain is forecast for the rest of the day with some strong winds too. That should keep the trick-or-treaters quiet and hopefully prevent any firework activity too.

We're up to 43f 5.5c and it is still cloudy but for some reason, it feels warmer.

I'm all set for the kiddies tonight. It is supposed to dry up for them which will be great for handing out candies.

And I've resisted the temptation to dig some of my favourite little chocolate bars out of the candy coffin. One year I ate a whole box and we don't want to go there again!

I've finally added ballast to the two boxwood obelisk planters; the wind kept blowing them over so this morning I bought a bag of pea gravel and split it between them; if they blow over again I'll buy another bag of pea gravel; it's a constant fight against the weather.



Hopefully adding the ballast will stop them blowing over.

I've also been weeding and tidying the pathway and patio areas. Everything's neat and tidy ready for winter. I've also made a new friend whilst I was at the top of the garden called Pat walking her dog along the adjoining lane. Pat asked what I was going to do with the now cleared and rotavated wildflower meadows; I replied saying possibly planting lots of shrubs; plants & ground cover because I'm fed up of working so hard creating the meadows only for the climate to destroy them.

The rain is now up here @Jenny namaste; I'm allergic to rain; it soaks me so I've come indoors but I'm pleased I managed to do what I wanted to do today.
