I had a blood test yesterday morning and yesterday afternoon I was contacted by the surgery and advised that one of the results was low, the receptionist then said "the doctor has asked me to ask you if you are confused, tired or dizzy" now how answer "no mother" "sorry what were you calling about" or just yawn loudly and say no.
Upshot was another blood test booked on Monday.

How strange that the latest news on R Reeves non compliance with license laws and Charles finally removing Andrew's royal status came out at practically the same time.
Cynics would perhaps say it was an attempt to lessen public interest/anger in the govt's predicament.

If you drove a car believing it to be insured, but that was not the case, you would still be the one being fined and having points on your licence. What is the basic difference in this situation?

Why is everyone in the public eye wearing a Poppy weeks before The Day ? Whilst I can well understand and appreciate those who are making these fantastic Poppy sculptures (or whatever you want to call them) for public display need to start work on them well before, sticking a poppy on your lapel weeks in advance seems to me to take away the meaning it's meant to convey ie the celebration of 1 day.

I dont think its ever been a one day thing, even when I was at school they were selling them a few weeks in advance.

If I were Harry, I might be worried. Precedents being set, and all that. ;)

Meanwhile the BBC is complaining that if Mr M-W lives at Sandringham, it will still be free. But ... many people Andrew's age live "free" in that they have paid off their mortgage. If he becomes a private citizen, the media should stop reporting on his every move. Will they? Course not. They are loving this.

Deprivation @NigelJ, as in the 1917 Titles Deprivation Act to censure some of the German cousins on the wrong side of the 1st world war.

I do feel a bit sorry for his daughters but not too much as they both seem a bit off to me and not Fergie either. Wonder where she'll live now, and how with the gravy train gone.

It's not a celebration of one day. It's commemoration of the sacrifice made by thousands of service personnel over the last hundred years or more. They deserve to have our appreciation of that displayed for more than one day. At least in my opinion they do.

There is certainly an element of the sins of the father being passed down. The fact that their parents have both leeched off their position and titles for years isn't the fault of the daughters. They have been brought up to think that is normal. I suspect that even with their titles retained they are going to be much less popular in 'society' circles from here on.

There are plenty of places in the world where being dodgy or corrupt is a requirement for those circulating at the top of the wealth pyramid. Lots of these are nice and sunny too. ;) Better than a cold, wet winter in Norfolk, possibly.

Many people Andrew's age may well have paid off their mortgage but they never had the late queen's financial support and further assistance - makes a bit of a difference. A is apparently moving into a "house" financed by Charles so all is well - presumably Sarah Ferguson will have to move too ?
My apologies if I've inadvertently upset anyone about Poppies. My grandfather was gassed in the trenches in WW1 and my father was a crew member in the RAF's Lancaster bombers which desecrated Germany. My mother was also a member of the WRAF. As the only survivor, she always stood to attention for the 1 minute silence and that is what I remember.

You're right, I think, @Philippa. They seem devalued somehow but I expect that having people like newsreaders wear them early prompts some to support the appeal who may not otherwise do so.

No poppies here and no observation of the day either that I can see. The gardening club here holds its annual plant swap on the 11th as it's a holiday. I used to turn up at midday having observed the 11th hour in my own way but no-one here seems to think it's important. I expect the mayors lay wreaths on war memorials but have seen no sign of it here whereas in Belgium the Bourgmestre and Echevins had a full programme of wreath laying in the twns and villages and fly pasts and all sorts.

Maybe Mandelson and Trump could help out with some information.
Andrew, ( maybe its just Andy now, its a job to keep up) seems to be the only one taking the flak, there must be lots more money people involved.
I cant see in a case like this how you can just prosecute one person, its either full on inquiry followed by trials of all those involved or you just let it lie.

The others are clearly more aware and better funded when it comes to keeping a low profile in the Epstein saga. I'd love to see full disclosure of all the entitled rich boys and powerful politicians involved and a good round of come uppances.
