I recently bought a small cyclamen plant, I liked the nice red colour. However, the existing flowers, which used to be red, are turning pink.

    Why? :)

If it is the old flowers then they are changing colour as they age and die.

Interesting, I asked because I used to have a red cyclamen where the flowers remained red, even as they died.

We were given over the years red ones from friends and we planted them out. While some turned pink most just disappeared. Never saw them again even as other colours.

Most of the red ones are the non hardy types, unless you use a specialist outlet for cyclamen.
If you just bought it in a GC or similar, it's likely to be a persicum which aren't hardy. Most people have to bring them indoors and treat them as a house plant.

Lots of flowers Change colour slightly as they age.
Bit like people getting grey or white hair. :)

I think it's winter wet which usually kills Cyclamen persicum; if you can keep the corms dry they will apparently survive minus 7.

                Thanks all.

I forgot to mention that it IS a house plant. :-) (as in it's been inside since I bought it).

That's why it doesn't survive here @Liriodendron - for either situation!

It'll just be the flowers changing as they fade and die off then @TheMadHedger.
