Well it should! The harsh truth is that we've reached a point where we are not doing enough about crimes like this, nor even the likes of theft, shoplifting, vandalism etc...

These random attacks are something different, they never seem to have a proper motive.

I dont condone murder in any way, but I understand to some extent a motive.

We seem to have been breeding mindless thugs that I cant comprehend.

@Fat Controller A major problem is lack of funding - budget cuts in policing are as harsh as any other public service and that means poor results across the board from the recruitment and selection criteria to training and awareness to providing modern detection facilities, decent working conditions and adequate numbers.

Bureaucracy also seems to drown detection and prevention and I suspect, that with a little care by us all, we could vastly reduce opportunities for crime from house burglaries to street muggings and car thefts.

Crimes against women go back to early years and teaching respect for everyone whatever their sex, creed or colour.

Ten people stabbed. That was bad enough but can you imagine the mayhem that might have unfolded if the train companies had their way and reduced the on-board staff to just the driver? The unions always said their main concern was passenger safety.

Yet we have £52 million to build a road to nowhere in the middle of Guyana...

The main problem we have is very poor decision making and a complete lack of accountability.

I can remember many years ago if there was a murder it was in the news headlines for weeks, now its just happening everyday and often doesn't get a mention.

It has nothing to do with funding of the police or any of that its people are different and a lot of them are either on drugs or just watch nasty stuff and revel in it.

              Copycat killings?
              So called radicalisation on line.
As I say, killing someone you know for some twisted reason is not acceptable, but it makes some sense.
But just going out and trying to kill loads of people you dont know is something else.

Given all the news recently and being awake in the early hours, I remembered an acronym which I believe came into being during WW2......... SNAFU...... which just about covers world events. I know @shiney ( and others ) dislike them but the first 2 letters are Situation Normal. I reckon you can guess the rest of it.

I disagree, I think Harry looks exactly like Prince Phillip, especially the close-set eyes.

Not sure it really matters who fathered/mothered which royal - they are no different from the average person - just a bit wealthier.
I'd also have thought that Andrew's children would no longer now be known as Princess so and so. That title is inherited and A is no longer a royal.
Apart from anything else, it wouldn't be a bad idea for govt. to start looking at royal estates and finances as a whole as they keep banging on about being short of money.

That one's been doing the rounds recently @shiney

That's what was waiting for me if I'd stayed @Obelix-Vendée. I'm lucky - I got away. Even worse, I could have ended up in jail. I won't go into detail, but when we were in a local refuge, I told the chap who helped run it a few things [you're required to inform them of various circumstances] and he said something to me that I've never forgotten- 'no one's worth doing time for'. He also told me some horrific stories about women they'd had in there - the 'respected businessman who removed his wife's shoes every day before going to work is one that sticks with me. A lot of it is that secret, hidden abuse- mental rather than physical, which is every bit as bad - if not worse.

I donate to those charities and our local facilities for victims of abuse, and I'd respectfully ask everyone here to consider doing that at Christmas, rather than the endless spending on tat. Even a small amount - it all adds up. Thinking of others at that time of year is surely what it's about if you aren't religious, and even if you are religious - again, isn't that what it's supposed to be about? Thinking of others less fortunate.
