I received today cuttings (I ordered four but received about a dozen) of this ...

The problem is there are buds on a lot of them. Will they root? I plan on doing water and soil methods.

Thank you Spruce. It was listed as Delicate Orange, but on the packaging she (Angelika) wrote Blood Gold (in German).

I've never come across that colour before - very attractive. Both mine ( red flower/purple leaf aka Xmas cactus and the white flower/ green leaf aka Easter cactus) are both beginning to flower now.
Very easy to propagate as @Spruce says. I use a shallow tray of sieved compost to do mine in - if you can only choose a piece with a tiny bud showing, you can just nip it off. Good luck :)

I have a feeling they will root even with the flowers on them.
But best to take some off as you have so many you could try both ways.

                  That's a lovely colour @Victoria.

I had a huge pinky red one grown from a teeny citting Possum won in a school fair raffle when she was 7. I put it outside last summer ofr its holidays and it looked fine but when I went to bring it in again for winter it had wilted and fallen apart - the base of every stem eaten by snails. Fortunately I had a few babies growing for friends and now have a very small one just starting to flower now.

Yes, I thought it unique. I got cuttings from Germany. I also have a red one, a white one, a white with pink edges, and this one I have had for Donkey's Years ....
