The fun begins, it's delived a few minutes ago

 

The arm of my computer chair has been making me unhappy for a while, I've been trying to hold it together with tape as you can see:



Then it occurred to me to search on Amazon and see if I could get a replacement. I was thinking the whole arm when I started the search, but quickly found listings for just the pad on the top. I hadn't realised that was a separate part, but it seems they are a pretty standard fitting even on my old chair which must be 20 years old (and in good nick apart from the one arm).

So I bought a pair for about £15, they arrived today:


What a difference! Slightly thinner and shorter than the old one.

 

Amazing what you can find online! However did we manage before internet shopping.

 

I have just discovered if you put -ai in the search bar, you don't get a patronising screed mashed together by so-called Intelligence. I shall be using this henceforth!

 

How peculiar. I’ve just tried it and you’re right. Why, by including the letters in the search bar does the answer come up without them? Most odd.

 

maybe because - means minus?

I google -ai and Google had no answers

 

I assume you are teasing , but just in case not, say you are looking up watermelons, @Jiffy. Put watermelons in the search bar, followed by -ai, and you won't get any "artificial" information as the first result.

But i did google "-ai" and got no answer's

 

I quite like the AI that gets churned out. It saves me a lot of time researching. I get more sense out of it than talking to some people I know! I do check the sources in the links.
