            Amazing photos @Scroggin - you are also incredibly observant! Those red ones look very strange (not the fly agaric)

              Not you - the fungi...:heehee:

              Those red ones are really bizarre, as @CarolineL says. Do you know what they are?

                @fairygirl , I'll accept weird, I've been called worse .
                The strange red fungi is commonly called ' Devils Fingers ' or ' Octopus Stinkhorn ' . We were kindly shown those by a lady photographing fungi in a local NT garden.

                  We have just finished reading Richard Mabey book The accidental garden. A good read but also we thought that we have tried to do so much for so many years . Give it a go.

                  We were in Portugal last month and Pampas Grass was growing wild on the hillsides

                    Thanks @Scroggin - I'll look those fungi up. :blue thumb:
                    I'm sure I've been called a lot worse too, and I hate to think what people would be saying if they saw me taking this pic yesterday
                    113_0247.JPG
                    I've taken pix of this tree stump before, but I'd noticed the day before that someone had added the little mouse with a pumpkin, so I thought I 'd give them a little fairy to add to their display.
                    Very sadly, there had also been a little fairy door, and that had gone. I don't want to speculate, but if someone took that and chucked it somewhere, they're miserable ars**oles.
                    I'm hoping it's not worse than that, and someone's taken it for their own purposes, but nothing surprises me about humans nowadays. :frown:

                    Found these in my lawn while walking from the car this morning. On my knees taking the photographs I was joined by the 4 and 5 year old from next door who are always curiou about what I'm doing.
                    Names are down to Google search I get as far at it's a fungus.

                          when ripe, just dont confuse it with the other two nightshades. its fun comparing nigrum individuals as they are so variable
