I live in a transmission cold spot. Freeview worked till the 2012 switchover, but not since. They knew we were going to be a problem area, so they left us till last, at which point there was no going back as the rest of the country was already switched.

We're lucky we can't watch online tv as broadband is so slow, just think if braodband was faster i could watch more repeats of rubbish faster, every thing is changing or being messed around with and at the moment i don't know which way i'm going, even the bleeding phone are rubbish now, not sure why but having a converstion with some one on the phone is bad, we just seem to be talking over one another with delays inbween, not sur it's because of the ditgal voice or the other phone is internet based but it's all rubbish ( i should put a rude word in here c_ _ _ )

I have very thick hair, and if I don’t use conditioner, it dries up into a scruffy looking cloud. When I used to go to the hairdresser, they would always use copious amounts of conditioner, and the comb would just slide through it. My nieces, who all have long thick hair, and also quite a few children who wriggle and squeal when having their hair combed, highly recommend a thing called a tangle teezer ( other brands are presumably available) I got one in Boots years ago, and can confirm it does work, although I haven’t needed it for some time. I was just wondering if it would work on son’s Border Terrier! Then I looked at their website, and discovered they now do a range just for pets! Even more surprising and pleasing is that many of their products are made in the UK!
OH cuts my hair for me now, his skills have developed considerably since he started in lockdown. It’s saved me a small fortune.
I do use my hairdryer to dry my hair, but also to dry the Perspex tube from the bird feeder when I’ve washed it. We also have hard flooring in much of the house, and on high power, it’s really good for shifting ‘tumbleweed’ from under the bed, and behind the wardrobe!

Ooh, good idea on the bird feeders! My hairdryer is currently mislaid, I may have to buy a new one now. I had a frozen lock last winter for the first time in years and couldn't find it, so I had to use a fan heater which wasn't nearly so convenient.

Don't ask me, @pete. All the other channels are there, but the pictures are either completely pixelated with no sound or the screen in black with "data service" written across it. I've managed to put up with this for 13 yrs, but as the only BBC output I want is the grass court tennis in June/July, I am fed up paying the licence fee and want more bang for my buck.

Have just been looking an Apple TV. I always assumed this was an actual TV like, say, Samsung, but apparently it is a little box that turns your TV smart. That might work for me as I am in the Apple ecosystem. Need to find out if I have an HDMI port as currently I use a scart.

Gawd, things used to be simpler.

It depends on where the tranmiter is and the streath of the signal being pushed out, sometimes i can loss some tv channels in bad weather

We regularly lose satellite signal during spells of high pressure or electrical storms. Oddly, this affects Sky TV in the living room more than Freesat in the kitchen, both feeding off the same dish.

Mobile phone signals are stronger upstairs near windows or outside. We do have thick stone walls tho so I always ask people to send a text or an email as that's more sure.

Internet is now fibre optic and so far, so good but it was painful getting the cabling done as they cut off the ADSL junction box up the road before starting to install the fibre optics. 3 weeks tethered to a satellite signal on OH's mobile at their expense for being disorganised.

We only have Freeview with the signal coming from an aerial. Fairly often the signal on channels (apart from 1 - 5) cutting in and out and reporting 'poor signal'.

I manage to get most freeview channels ok, just occasionally they pixelate or go off for a few seconds, I'm using a tiny aerial out the back of my house that faces the wrong way for the Bluebell hill transmitter, but it works most of the time.
I'm probably fairly high up, compared to some places, 81 mtr above sea level according to google with a almost clear view to the North Downs.
