It's easier to change a monarch, than a US administration. We've done it here quite often since the Romans went home; admittedly got a bit messy at times, but we managed to change Edward VIII to George VI with a few bits of paper and signatures.
In the US even if you get rid of the President his buddie steps in and takes over no change of admin.

Are we not mixing up monarchy with government?

I should have said 'It's true Aus is arid which explains why most people live around the coasts'. Yes Canada has a lot of uninhabitable land, but it also has huge land areas used for agriculture.

Slightly; however most democracies have a Head of State and a Head of Government, even Russia. The US however have a Head of State who is also Head of the Administration.
The Head of State gets the ceremonial stuff and the Head of Government actually runs the (or tries to run) the country.
The US the same person does the lot: so in many ways is more like a pre English Civil War absolute monarch.

It is a very puzzling world indeed where someone will expect a peace prize for officially recognising an illegal land grab, at least if the flutter in the media is to be believed.

I think Alaska should be returned to Russia in exchange for Russia withdrawing from Ukraine. That might get Trump a peace prize!

This is a very interesting document, but shocking when you think it's what the NHS is having to spend time and money on.
A female employee decided she was "non-binary" and wanted to be referred to as "they/them". She then considered that her employers and colleagues didn't apologise hard enough when they slipped up, and it ended up at tribunal. Thankfully they found against her.

Perhaps he could also give the Louisiana purchase back to France and while the Spanish might not want Florida back at the moment, I'm sure they'd accept California back.

I dont get this "They/Them" thing, to me they are plural terms, I know my English is not great but I'm sure they were when I was a school.
"That" or "It" would be more appropriate.

I remember Bill Bryson writing about the various novel dangers in his excellent book Down Under. He was positively alarmed at the many excruciating ways in which you might accidentally die on a visit there.
