Oh poor @Victoria! You really deserve a proper and brand new computer. There are plenty of budget options around now, and second hand can be a false economy with some items. I think a heavy hint to Father Christmas is in order - and as he is so busy at this time of year, it would be perfectly acceptable to order it yourself.

@Victoria The crumbling laptop can possibly be resurrected. But if you have sticky P that will require medical intervention.

Thank you for responding. T'Other Half worked for23 years as head honcho of IT of Renaukt Trucks UK ensuring all the dealerships were connected and online and that the equipment was operational. He can tear apart and repair anything from laptops to mainframes. I think that last laptop got the better of him as there was much foul language!!! He has done medical intervention on the P, but ... I think he has cannibalized the old one.

Ah, thank you, By second hand I mean T'other Half's after he buys new ones. My last one was brand new and in Warranty ....until T'ether Half attempted repair on it. :hate-shocked: The one coming is a re-conditioned one comes with a three-year warranty.

Lemon Pie or Raspberry Pi - silly name, whichever. :)

I have many teeny spiders abseiling from the ceiling in the downstairs cloakroom. I know they can't survive outside. Should I just leave them to disperse? Or gather them up and put them in the loft maybe? I don't mind coexisting with them but there are rather a lot.

Coexist with them, the number will soon drop with cannibalism and predation.

Fair enough. I will see if they dwindle naturally. :blue thumb:

I find the little spiders are safer put on any indoor plants and the big ones are left to their own devices.

It's not to do with 3G or 4G, those are just network standards and affect speed etc. 3G was the first one that was good enough for internet capability.

Funny I have just cleaned out my wired mouse. It was "ice skating" and not responding. It gets full of fluff so you have to remove its bottom and rubber ball. Now it's like new.

But I have a moan about Samsung email app. When writing a long email it does not scroll properly and covers what you are typing. Then the page jumps up and down. Research suggests there is a glitch, but suggested remedies worry me as I'll probably get in a mess.

I have similar problems with some of the applications I have to use for work. I end up typing in another application e.g. Notepad and then copying/pasting it.

I often prepare narrative in Notepad or Wordpad and then copy/paste so that I have a copy of what I have submitted.

Re the Samsung email problem their forum now says they are preparing a fix. So it's not me it's them!

"Preparing a fix" sounds like "We are a while away from a fix but stop bugging us about it as we have told you we are working on it". ;)
