It looks as though you must have grabbed it all! :hate-shocked:

I always take photos of snow and have none at all in 2018. I reckon the Dartford crossing must have been closed so it couldn't get to us. :heehee:

The rain held off for my walk, and for most of the day in fact. A mild week ahead with light rain, then a dip in temp for Friday and Saturday with Saturday being dry and sunny (maybe. Unless that’s a tease).

You should remember how cold it was even if you had no snow.
Very cold for about 10 days I think, remember trying to get to work, I drove about 10 miles in second gear the traffic was all over the place, it was pretty bad.
Unlike you I dont remember anything in 17 or 19.

I always take photos of when it snows and so I can look at my photos and check the dates. My garden photos are all filed in year and month folders :rolleyespink:

For us the winter of 2022/23 was the super cold winter but no snow. It was -12C and below for two weeks and we lost five trees, 27 Hebes (may have been 37 but can't remember properly :old:) and loads of other perennials.

We briefly saw the sun, quite briefly went for a beach walk and it rained making dash for the car, 7 degrees and not too windy, still lots of flooded roads in the area.

It is up to 11f -11c but the sun has been lovely.

I'm impressed with your snow pics @pete. How did you dig out? Does everyone there own snow shovels just in case?

It is guessed to be going down to -23c again tonight but a cheeerful change is happening.

Yesterday a large flock of sparrows visited, followed by chicadees. Today a beautiful pair of blue jays were supping at the feeder.

Feathered harbingers of less frigid times to come :)

I always flew to Berlin on 3 March because my late dad's birthday was on the 5th.
It was already difficult to get the blood test done at the surgery on the 2nd. I intended to go to Salisbury afterwards but the bus services had stopped in Wiltshire because of the snow. That's why I couldn't understand how the Russians came to Salisbury because also the train services into Wiltshire had stopped. The problem wasn't the amount of snow you see here.
OH's flight in Munich was cancelled due to the snow storm which not only hit us but also Europe. BA changed to the next day the 3rd.

                        20180302snow_lawn_01_800.jpg

I had waited 2 hours at the bus stop for the National Express to Heathrow.
After 2 hours waiting and while OH was sitting at Munich airport, we arranged that I drive to Heathrow, park the car, need to find a place where I can leave the keys.
On the way to Heathrow, I saw the storm had caused huge snow drifts and I drove along 2 meters high snow walls along the M4.
The Lost&Found department agreed to take the keys while having a live Skype session with OH in Munich. My flight to Berlin was the only flight on that day, all others were cancelled. OH came 5 hours later to Heathrow.

After the third winter snow storm in that winter on 19 March, neighbour's fence finally gave up.

The patio is actually dry this morning and the forecast is dry for today.

Some annoying statistics about sunshine for January. This year our solar panels produced 67kWh, last year it was 84kWh, 2024 it was 107 kWh and 2023 it was 134kWh. Admittedly 2023 was unusual but it seems as though the trend is for bad Januarys and this month seems to be heading for a bigger drop than all previous Februarys.

Yes the dullness has been oppressive as far as I'm concerned.
It appears to have rained again in the night.
Dark clouds and a bit of wind blowing.
