Why is knees above hips a good position? Which bit of you does it take pressure off?

I couldn’t sit in your’s @Victoria without getting a slip disc (pre-history and need to be careful with that), but I bought this one.
Persbol (I don’t use the cushion), and fits my body.
With chairs it’s like with shoes or bicycle saddles: It has to fit the body.

As much as I like them, I can't sit in them either. I like the one you got. I even had to get a taller toilet after my hip replacement three times.

It relaxes my 61 years old hip-spine-discs construct. I feel it in my lower spine.
The biggest problem I have is that all chairs and sofas are higher than 44cm because the average size of homo sapiens in Europe has increased in the last 30 years. There are rarely chairs and sofas available with a height of 41cm. I come from a family with 5cm shorter legs and arms.
Currently, I use a brick seat with a height of 4 bricks on top of each other in the garden.

I have to have cushions, preferably spongy type, on my chairs. Otherwise I get a numb bum.

              Me too.
I have thinner bench cushion in the shed which also gives the back comfort. OH bought it 4 years ago, never used, now it gets a purpose :)

They look lovely. I have a bench but hardly ever get to sit on it.

I thought my driving licence expired this year, turns out it's next year I have to have another eye test to keep the licence for a further three years.

It makes a change for good news:

The car insurance has gone down from £650 to £450.

Octopus Energy has emailed to say they are reducing our prices mid term in a fixed contract. Elec has gone down by 14% , gas by about 6%.

I have just sold a vintage Laura Ashley maxi dress for £150. I have owned it for 47 years and worn it just once. Good to have a clear out. It had been up for sale on eBay for 2 years and finally someone cracked and bought it.

And the sun is out at last.

The interesting thing about Adirondack chairs is that they are ideal for areas that incline. You can set the back legs on the rise and yes, the chair levels out a bit but the back is reclined enough that you won't be pitched forward.

Lots use where the side of a garden is hilly.

"Adirondack chairs are specifically designed for sloping terrain, with a deeply slanted seat and backrest that provide stable, ergonomic, upright seating when placed facing down a hill. The design, originating in the early 1900s, accommodates uneven terrain, making them uncomfortable on flat ground but ideal for hills
