I'd appreciate any advice on getting rid of wisteria. We can cut the trunks but can't get to the roots, which are under the driveway. Should we just cut down as low as possible and remove any new shoots that appear? Any tips gratefully received!

I had to cut down my wisteria earlier this year but managed to dig out most of the stump. You could try carefully painting either the cut stump and/or roots with SBK stump killer which usually works for me.
    Good luck.

I used SBK stump killer on mine last winter, no sign of any regrowth so far this year.

I think you should only use it in winter though.

I used SBK stump killer on a holly bush in autumn of 2024 and there is no sign of any regrowth. You do need to apply it liberally and cover all exposed surfaces.

      Hi.

      I use this -
20L GALLUP XL PROFESSIONAL STRENGTH GLYPHOSATE 360g/L TOTAL WEED KILLER.

It kills everything for a long time, if it comes back at all, it has worked well for me.

You can scrape away the bark from the stumps, paint with SBK and put something over to keep any rain off.
Alternatively, if the remaining stumps are large enough, you can drill several holes in the top and use a syringe or similar to inject with SBK.
