Trying to understand how to fill a part of a bed

    Your Geranium Rozanne looks beautiful in the second photo! Regarding the Sorbaria, perhaps your Winters are considerably milder than mine. It looked pretty bare here.

    Based on the first photo, you do have some height in the area. Have you considered Erigeron (a.k.a. Mexican Fleabane?)

    @Plantminded don’t say that, i’ve just moved that rose! :gaah: Lol

    @CostasK I've got Erigeron elsewhere, it wouldn’t be a hardship to move some. In fact I’ve got 2 that are probably too close together so i could move one of them.

      The picture looks lovely with the rose and 'Rozanne'. My only worry would be to have thorns of the rose in the seating area.
      Reading the RHS description, Sorbaria has a habit of being a sucker. I would be careful with that.
      I tend to make my life easier and plant what behaves well without getting a nuisance. Heleniums and Perovskia Blue Spire are my favourite currently, and eventually a knee-high grass that behaves well and doesn't need annual treatment.
