I want to buy a plum tree in the next week or two - which are the best online suppliers?

Let's say that I got for a couple of plum trees (120cm to 150cm height) which will be in a sometimes very windy location, any recommendations for stakes and even rabbit protection please?

Would a single angled stake and a mesh rabbit guard suffice?

Or should I use two vertical stakes per tree?

I’d say two stakes would allow the stem of the sapling room to move according to any change in wind direction. You don’t want the bark to get rubbed off so I’d loosely wrap something around the area that might get chafed. I have used those long thin strips of elastic bandages for this in the past. Rabbits? I can’t say. They can’t get into our garden.

Hessian is traditionally used to protect the trunk from rubbing, you can buy rubber tree ties although I've seen old cycle tubes cut up and used.

I have some rubber tree ties - if using two vertical stakes do I then screw a horizontal bar between the two stakes and then attach the strap to that bar and the tree trunk?
