Coltsfoot, Tussilago, along the little road behind my garden. The flowers look as if they are going over, I didn't see them when open.
The leaves appear in the summer time.

            Is that a beech tree?
I saw one in the park that had come down in the wind a few days ago, massive tree and the whole thing had shattered when it hit the ground, the wood was totally infested with fungus.
Beech seems to go that way.

I saw some of these a few days ago, the ones I saw were almost leafless.

The flowers appear before the leaves, in February and March. The leaves don't grow until the summer.

I've never seen horsetail so widespread over a field like that. Normally they seem to take over gardens!

It was a first for me too, they're in a paddock that's been grazed by pigs and goats but vacant at the moment. From a distance it looked like a field of asparagus.
