    Sometimes the contacts on the SD card get greasy. I have some electrical contact spray cleaner, but if you don't, a gentle rub with a soft pencil rubber can clean the contacts enough. Also, as @pete says, the laptop receiving contacts could be iffy, so by using a Usb connected reader (they're very cheap) you have a different route. Windows 10 should have no issues with the card.
