My husband and I are discussing where to retire. I look out at my vast gardens and fear the sale of my house to someone who does not appreciate established gardens. I love my gardens. Although I am only 56 years old, plan to spend many more years enjoying my gardens, fine tuning them, adding to them ect., one day will come when I will have to leave.
I guess I only want to sell my house to a gardener. I have a friend down the street, her name is Jane, her gardens are also something else (huge), it would be a shame for her gardens to also go to some un-gardener. Has anyone else felt this?

Why on earth would you need to retire to somewhere else?

We want to go to a place with less winters, not that here is bad. And some place near the water so we could get a boat. But I guess I also put this thought out because, I am sure other gardeners older than myself would want to only sell to a gardener wonder what they do?

I do really sympathize with you, but as you wish to start a new life somewhere else, then you have to draw a line and not think about it don't you.

Not easy I know, but I do wish you all the best. I left a beautiful garden and wish I could have brought it to where I am now...but.......:thumb:

Actually, it won't happen for about 10 years. I am hoping to sell only to a gardener.
