forum usage - some interesting factoids

With our membership nearing 5,000 any day now, I was looking into the usage in other forums, especially another forum where I am a member

CF: membership 229,876. Members online = 233 which is .001% of membership.
GC: membership 4,987. Members online 20 which is .004% of membership

(However, we should take into account the 90-9-1 principle)

Why is it some forums are so busy and others are dead. I am on a small non public cooking forum. There are only about 200 memebers but it is always busy

Of all the people I have come across in my life, those that take pleasure in the simple things-from cooking, taking walks, gardening etc all seem to have something quite pleasant at their heart. Get a few of these likeminded souls together and this sort of place is what you get.


Its not the pub that makes the beer taste nice, its the company.
