OMG, I've just seen on tele that a woman in (guess where) California has had her dog cloned. She now has 5 puppies. I love my Joyce & did my Peppy before her but I would never have cloned them.

They are/were both unique individuals and I would love to keep them forever but I just don't agree with this.

    what do you think?

    cheers

Now I am no scientist, and I am probably completely wrong here, But to me, if you take tissue from a say, 10 year old dog. Then you are going to produce pups which are already, technically, 10 years old. So they are going to degenerate quicker than a normally reproduced animal.

Sounds right to me, if you take a cutting from a plant it flowers much faster than a seed grown one.
In other words its already adult.

Perhaps things are different with animals.

But I dont think its a good idea.

In fact its a daft idea.

I have just watched the Olympic opening in the birds nest stadium.
I am now convinced that all Chinese youngsters are cloned !
I shall leave this subject now open to comment.
